Speech and Language Therapy

LANGUAGE

In the field of Speech Therapy, the term “language” is used to describe the

words we understand and use to share ideas and get our needs met in our

environment.

HOW CAN A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST HELP MY CHILD WITH A LANGUAGE DISORDER?

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are experts in the area of language

development. If you suspect your child has a language disorder, an SLP

will first assess your child to determine if there is a disorder and in what

areas. If your child does demonstrate the need for Speech Therapy, the

SLPs at Envision Hope will develop a personalized plan of care to address

your child and families unique communication needs.
